  • My first trip with YENARATOURS was already my 2nd trip to wonderful Sri Lanka. The first visit had shown me already, that there're two worlds regarding tourism: There’re guides who pretend to show you the island and, and there’re guides who really do. Harsha belongs definitively to those, who really do! As a photographer I love pure nature and beautiful places, as a "bon vivant" I enjoy traditional food, and of course there should be kind of "cultural education" as well on the agenda. For six days we were on the road, hopping from place to place and while my booking with Harsha was on short notice, we had to find our accommodations day by day. (Cool challenge!) What should I say: Harsha has the admirable ability to find the best places, no matter what you're looking for. However, if you're visiting a typical tourist attraction, for sure will queue up with other tourists and kill some time while waiting. What makes the crucial difference are the possibilties BESIDE the "standard program" of common tourist guides, Harsha can easily make possible: I wanted to try the REAL Sri Lankan local food - Harsha brought me to places where certainly no other tourist had ever dined before. He introduced me to excellent "home-made" tropical dishes in small family restaurants along the road. When I told him that I was looking for a bite, he found just the right place. Incredible, delicious - exactly what I wanted to discover! At Galle, we visited the "REAL" Tsunami museum (and believe me, there're more places in town, pretending to be the "one and only"...) Harsha knows the difference, and he can also tell you why common tourist agencies normally avoid this place. While driving, we had a lot of conversation. Harsha taught me local history, stopped spontaneously at monuments or important places and was always an entertaining and companionable partner. Conclusion: Harsha and YENARA TOURS gave me much more than I ever expected. I took unforgeteable moments and impressions with me back home. At my next return to Sri Lanka, Harsha will be my guide again for sure!
